This wet lab will look at challenges and solutions for performing root canals in multi-rooted teeth. Basic principles of veterinary endodontics will be reviewed. This hands-on session will build on knowledge and previous experience of clinicians that have learned basic endodontics for canine and incisor teeth. Participants will learn tips and tricks to help locate and shape canals of upper 4th premolars and lower 1st molars in canine cadavers. As well they will learn how to amputate the palatal root of the upper 4th premolar and perform palatal flaps to cover the extraction site. Participants will practice filling multi-rooted canals using gutta flow and master cone technique.
